Diss Town F.C 1 - 0 Buckingham Town F.C
Fist of all I would like to thank Diss Town F.C for their superb hospitality and would like to also add what a fantastic place it was to play football.
The facilities and pitch was something we as a Club at Buckingham need to work towards.
The game .. well what can I say, utter disappointment for the players and all that came to watch the game, we left the ground thinking how was that goal allowed and felt shocked that the game was won in those circumstances.
As you can see Diss got the victory and I can't really add much more to it!
The goal came on 87 minutes, the assistant referee raised his flag for offside, and with the referee not seeing this, he continued with play, the ball found the back off the net and the ref instantly went over to the linesman, I felt confidant in myself the goal would not be awarded and everyone including Diss knew that it was offside in the first phase of play, but the referee over ruled the off side and allowed the goal to stand.
BTFC had chances though to be 1 or 2 up in the first half and it was those missed chances that we will regret.
The team put in a good shift and were unlucky.
The first half performance was better than the second but we knew that it was not going to be easy and I could See the players were trying their best to get something out of the game.
We walk away from the vase with a" WHAT IF " and shocked!
