Thanks to everyone who came to watch, it was good to get back to football after a difficult week.
Keeping it short, Burton Park came at us for 20 minutes but didn't score, we were comfortable from then onwards, 0-0 at halftime. Ben Shepherd lit the blue touch paper early in the 2nd half with a left foot smash into the roof of the net after a typical jinking run. Shortly after, an unfortunate BPW defender hooked one over his own keeper from 30 yards, he was being hassled by Ben (who claims the ball touched him on the way in) 2-0 and starting to look safer.
Ben Shepherd smacked in his 2nd (he says 3rd!) from 25 yards and Nick Bines got in on the act with a scissor kick, 4-0 and job done. Well done to all the lads, we were down to the bare bones again but they turned in a good performance.
We host Oadby Town next week, they are in the top 2 and strongly fancied for promotion, I don't think it will end 0-0 so will be worth a look. With 26 goals we are the highest scoring team outside the top 6 but with the against column showing 46 we've also conceded more than anyone. Should be plenty of goals then.
