The Robins on top over the Royals
Buckingham Town 4 Potton United 1
Buckingham returned to winning ways to complete a double over the Royals.
Paul Hull gave the Robins a sixth minute lead slotting home after good work from McCormick but James Worboys levelled for Potton a minute from the end of the first half.
The second half was more entertaining, and it was the last 20 minutes that provided vital for the Robins to secure the victory.
A change was needed Paul Hull made way for Sol Kazongo and Nick Bines moved up front to partner Joel McCormick.
This gave Buckingham a extra edge up front and still gave the option of width and pace on the flank.
Chris Robson restored the home lead on 73 minutes, then Joel McCormick smashed home a Robins third after 85 minutes and the finishing touch was presented by debutant Sol Kazongo who impressed and completed the scoring in the final minute to make it
4-1
Matt Bines, Daley Cross, Daryl Phillips, Kyle Stimpson, Jakub Kasprzyk, Pat Diamond, Ben Shepherd, Chris Robson, Joel McCormick, Paul Hull (Sol Kazongo)
Subs - not used: Baldwin, Barker, Wade
We started well and scored an early goal, BUT then let Potton into the game, this was not what we required and strong words were said at half time.
The second half proved the better and players upped their game and advanced with the correct attacking football, also offering more belief in their play.
4-1 was a good result and I was happy with the second half performance.
The players realised that the first half performance was not acceptable and giving your all for the shirt is a must!!
Well Done Lads
