Robson & Stimpson give Robins Wootton win

Sat 31st Dec: Goals by Chris Robson and Kyle Stimpson gave Buckingham Town a 2-0 victory over Wootton Blue Cross in the Chroma Sports & Trophies League, Division 1 this afternoon. Kit Bamber's side enjoyed large spells of possession on a sunny afternoon at the Winslow Centre and it came as no surprise when they took the lead on 24 minutes. The Robins battled for the ball on their left hand side and, as the ball ballooned in the air, ROBSON capitalised on the two visiting defenders uncertainty before shooting low past the Blue Cross goalkeeper. The Robins emerged from half-time and continued where they left off in the first period. Any attempts to progress by Blue Cross was snubbed out by the Robins' centre back Mark Gale, who was excellent at the heart of the home defence along with Pat Diamond. Bamber's side put the game beyond reach when STIMPSON headed home at the far post midway through the second half. Near the end Jakub Kaspryzk had a great run which saw him bend his shot just past the far upright. It was, in truth, an easy three points for Town ahead of their trip to Olney on Monday.

N.Bines, Cross, Kaspryzk, Diamond, Gale, Shepherd (N.Bines), Riley, Sands, Robson (Hull), Stimpson, Bannister (McCormick).
