Wardell with comeback goal as Robins draw

Saturday, 07 January 2012
Buckingham Town 1 Eynesbury Rovers 1

James Wardell took 5 minutes to secure a draw on Saturday against Eynesbury F.C

BTFC started the game the brighter of the two teams and started to dominate possession in the early stages, but found it difficult to break down the Eynesbury defence.
Rob Bannister came close with a header after Chris Robsons cross, but with the amount of possession BTFC had, it was hard to believe they didn't get rewards by scoring.

The players were aware that the second half would open up and Eynesbury would come out of the traps and start to up their game and tempo.
BTFC had to make an early change as Graham Sands came off with a groin injury and replaced by Ieuan Riley and Chris Robson would only last a further 20 minutes due to illness.
Then the goal came, Robson got caught on the ball in the centre of midfield and Eynesbury's leading scorer Lee Bassett put his side in front after 55 minutes.
A change was made and Stimpson made way for wardell and on the 71st minute Wardell worked himself a goal, showing desire and a willingness to not loose the ball in the box, he tackled his way through 3 defenders and slipped the ball passed the Eynesbury keeper.

All in all 1 -1 was a fare result, I was disappointed that with so much possession in the first half we did not create enough chances and secure a couple of goals.
The last 2 games it has been our errors that have gifted teams goals, players have been made aware of this and need to remember that over playing the ball in certain areas can cause problems.
lets hope theses players have noticed the mistakes, hold their hands up and learn from the mistakes.
